Becoming a Member

The Liedloff Continuum Network (LCN) is an international support organization comprised of parents, families and individuals — people whose understanding of human nature has been transformed (or validated) by Jean Liedloff's book, The Continuum Concept. You are invited to join the LCN if...

• you have read The Continuum Concept, you plan to read it, or you have become familiar with continuum principles through the articles on this website and/or participating in our email forum, 
• you want to integrate the principles of The Continuum Concept into your life, and 
• you want to find like-minded people from every corner of the world, as well as your own locale, to share knowledge and support.

The primary benefit of membership is access to our online database of members. The database is like an electronic address book or directory which includes contact and profile information about members. The LCN database has advanced search capabilities through which you can find other members who live nearby and/or share your interests and circumstances. We have an online application form, so you can sign up and start enjoying membership benefits immediately!

When you join, you are required to give your name (or first name and last initial) and at least one way of contacting you: email address, postal address, telephone number, and/or personal webpage address. There is also a Personal/Family Profile section of the membership form, and you can share as much (or as little) personal information as you like — up to about 200 words. You can change, update or delete your membership data at any time.

For privacy, your telephone number and street address are not shown to other members unless you indicate you want that data to be published. Your personal data will never be sold or published without your permission. The database is password protected and accessible by members only.

Membership is now FREE!

Before this website existed, readers of The Continuum Concept had to pay about $40 to receive reprints of our published materials via "snail-mail". Thanks to the low cost of publishing on the Internet, we are now able to make nearly all of the LCN's collection of articles and practical information accessible through the Internet, to both members and non-members.

There was also an annual membership fee of up to $21. We are currently experimenting with free memberships and voluntary donations. In this way, we hope to serve more people and have a greater positive influence on society. As a member, you are encouraged to support the LCN in any of the following ways, for which you will be given the designation of Contributing Member...

• Help two or more friends to join the LCN.
• Donate two or more copies of The Continuum Concept to public libraries or non-profit organizations.
• Donate $15 or more (in U.S. funds) to the LCN, a non-profit organization. (Donations are tax deductible in the U.S.) Send your check or money order to...

  Please write your database UserID on the check. (You will choose a UserID when you join online.)

The Contributing Member designation also belongs to anyone who...

• has performed volunteer service for the LCN, or
• paid a membership fee of any amount prior to January, 2000.

The online membership form has a checkbox where you indicate if you are a Contributing Member. You do not need to submit proof of contribution. Contributing Members have the same privileges as all other members; we do not withhold any services from those who choose not to contribute in the above described ways. The designation gives us a way to acknowledge and encourage specific contributions that we believe will advance the cause of The Continuum Concept. Simply joining the LCN and participating is of value to us all, and for that we are grateful.
